Every year we see new laws come into effect. In 2022, the CA state legislature passed almost 1,200 new laws and after the governor's signature nearly 1,000 of those laws will start to come into effect. The majority of these will have no direct impact on your life, but I have identified a few that may be beneficial to understand. These new laws are centered around preserving mental health, prioritizing safe driving, and protecting our kids. Ridley Defense supports many clients through access to Mental Health Diversion (MHD) programs and options available through the legal system. On April 25, in partnership with the VC Criminal Defense Bar Association, Ridley Defense is hosting a MCLE event to help the Ventura County criminal defense community better understand MHD opportunities for clients. Ridley Defense Attorneys Danielle Tamir and Doug Ridley, along with Ventura County Behavioral Health Regional Manager Dr. Mike Rodriguez will explain and discuss the process for getting a client into a mental health diversion program.
